Celebrating our 20th anniversary 

A Christmas Experience

Inspired by the traditional German, open-air Christmas markets, Christkindlsmarkt brings a cherished German tradition with local charm and a festive holiday atmosphere to Waconia, Minnesota. 

The festival features German holiday foods, decorations, gifts, and entertainment for the entire family. It is the family event of the season and free and open to the public.

Schedule:

Friday

Noon – 7:00 pm: Festival open — “Shop, eat and be merry!” 

Noon: Grand Opening Program — led by the Christkind Angel and Saint Nicolas. 

Noon: Christkindlmarkt opens — Christkind announces proclamation to open the market. 

Noon – 7:00 pm: KinderWorld Stage open (with Saint Nicolas, storytelling, balloon artist) 

4:00 pm: Sing-Along. 

5:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Storytelling. 

6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Open mic. 

Saturday

10:00 am – 7:00 pm: Festival open — “Shop, eat and be merry!” 

10:00 am – 11:30 am: (No additional description given) 

10:00 am – 7:00 pm: KinderWorld Stage open. 

10:00 am – 4:30 pm: Live Alaskan reindeer visit — photo opportunities. 

11:30 am & 12:30 pm: Live music by the River City Singers (local choral ensemble) 

2:00 pm – 4:00 pm: (No additional description given) 

5:00 pm: St. Martin’s Children’s Lantern Parade — all children welcome; German lanterns for sale; candle lights handed out; Saint Nicolas leads children’s procession and singing carols. 

6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Open mic. 

Sunday

10:00 am – 5:00 pm: Festival open.

1:00 pm: Live music. 

5:00 pm: Festival closes.
