Steffenhagen affirmed he shares the manifesto’s anti-LGBT beliefs, calling homosexuality a “sexual sin”

ST PAUL – On Sep 13th, the Minnesota DFL responded to new reports revealing that Caleb Steffenhagen spent several years working for a far-right ministry called “Dangerous Men United” (DMU) and evangelizing on their behalf using a weird manifesto with anti-abortion and anti-LGBT politics, including promoting conversion therapy. In addition to the manifesto’s far-right anti-LGBT and anti- abortion politics, the manifesto also condemns astrology, ouija boards, and magic eight balls and spends a lot of time talking about the evils of homosexuality and masturbation.

Steffenhagen affirmed to Axios that he agrees “that same-sex attraction is a ‘sexual sin.’”

Caleb Steffenhagen’s obsession with this weird anti-LGBT, anti-abortion manifesto tells you everything you need to know about his politics,” said DFL Chairman Ken Martin. “The Minnesota GOP is urging their candidates to conceal their far-right beliefs, but they can’t hide their true colors. If Republicans like Caleb Steffenhagen regain power in the Legislature, they will use it to go after LGBT equality and reproductive freedom.”

Photos of Steffenhagen promoting and preaching the teachings of the manifesto are available here and here.

Steffenhagen is the Minnesota GOP candidate in a competitive state House seat (48B) in the Carver County area that could decide control of the state House – in 2022, it was the second closest House district in Minnesota.
