Nashua, NH - The Nashua Republican City Committee is raising the alarm over what it calls a blatant “shadow impeachment” orchestrated by Democrat officials in Nashua, aiming to strip Republican candidates of their authority as elected ward moderators for the upcoming election.

“This is nothing less than an underhanded attempt to remove our Republican election officials from their posts under false pretenses,” said Peter Silva, Chairman of the Nashua Republican City Committee. “How can this be understood as anything other than Democrats trying to undermine fair elections by sidelining those who would ensure transparency and accountability?”

Democrat officials claimed that Republican ward moderators on the ballot could not oversee elections in their wards. However, the Secretary of State’s office rejected this maneuver, affirming that these officials must retain their roles, with temporary moderators assigned only to handle specific ballot-counting tasks.

“The Secretary of State’s decision protects the integrity of our elections from these partisan attacks,” said Bill O’Brien, Republican National Committeeman for New Hampshire. “This was an outrageous effort to disqualify Republican officials and disrupt oversight at polling places.”

Nashua and Statewide Republicans pledge to remain vigilant against further attempts to disenfranchise Republican election officials and hide from voters what is going on at the polls.
