LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb issues the following statement regarding the Omaha City Primary Election results:
“We congratulate John Ewing for advancing to the General Election with major momentum on his side. We thank Jasmine Harris for bringing forward critical issues facing the Omaha community during the primary. John Ewing will join several strong Democratic candidates advancing up and down the ballot who will help shape Omaha for decades. All of the candidates and volunteers sacrificed their time, sweat, and resources to better the lives of fellow Nebraskans. Democrats brought solution-based ideas that could benefit all communities and families, not just those at the top, which is the only thing Republicans like Jean Stothert seem to care about these days. We will be laser-focused on supporting all of our Democratic candidates getting across the finish line in the General Election on May 13th, 2025.”
Democratic candidates heading to the Omaha General Election include*:
Omaha Mayor – John Ewing
City Council District 1 – Pete Festersen
City Council District 2 – LaVonya Goodwin
City Council District 2 – Ben Gray
City Council District 3 – Danny Begley
City Council District 3 – Mike Pilypaitis
City Council District 4 – Andrew Adams
City Council District 4 – Ron Hug
City Council District 7 – Tim Carter
*Final results will be based on the remaining ballots to be counted by the Douglas County Election Commission office on Friday, April 4th.
