New Berlin Harvest Fest

Arts and Entertainment

September 10, 2024

From: New Berlin Harvest Fest

Schedule:

In the early 1800's, the city now known as North Canton was previously a village called New Berlin. With mostly German speaking residents, New Berlin became a bustling trading center with several local Taverns, inns, wagon-makers, blacksmiths and general stores.

The New Berlin Festival pays homage to our past as thousands of local residents gather in the heart of the city to enjoy homemade German food, live Polka music and fall flavored beer.

join us as we shut down Main St, welcome back the biggest and best Polka Band (Chardon Polka Band) this side of the Tuscarawas and say Prost to our past.

This years festival we're transforming the Hoover Lawn into a Biergarten and are teaming up with our friends at Royal Docks, New Berlin Brewing, and  ill Will Brewing

Each brewery is bringing their best German and/or Fall themed creations and each will have their own tent with tables and chairs for residents to use throughout the festival.

The Chardon Polka Band plays traditional polkas reminiscent of The Lawrence Welk Show, a style that has endeared them to traditional polka fans, but sometimes morphs into punk-rock renditions of the same songs, modified to bring in a younger audience.

They throw in comedic renditions of oddball favorites, bizarre audience participation songs, and even polka-rock covers of anything from Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” to Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls” to Lady Ga Ga’s “Bad Romance”
