Summer Swim Lessons at the Steve Benko Pool

Lessons Running Throughout the Summer

Spots available for sessions 5-8, register today

We are proud to partner with the New Canaan Recreation Department to provide swim lessons at the Steve Benko Pool in Waveny Park this summer!

Classes are available for ages 6 months (parent/child) through 12 years.

Classes run through August 18 as one-week sessions that meet Monday-Friday in the morning.

*Participants do not need to be a New Canaan YMCA member, but do need to be a member of the Steve Benko Pool before the first lesson.

Build Skills, Confidence, & Character

Basketball Camp 2023

Spots available for upcoming sessions. Register today!

Join us for Basketball Camp at the Y this summer! Offered in six, four-day sessions for ages 6-14.

Basketball camp provides opportunities for all participants to develop and hone their all-around skills through individual and team drills, games, and more.

The Y's engaged and energetic coaches will ensure players enjoy friendly competition while building confidence, character, and most importantly, having fun!

Basketball Camp (Ages 6-14)

Time: 9:00 AM-12:00 PM

Session 2: July 24-July 27

Session 3: July 31-August 3

Session 4: August 7-August 10

Session 5: August 14-August 17

Session 6: August 21-August 24

Fees: $220*/member, $320*/non-member

*Fee per session.

Lifeguard Certification & Recertification Courses

CERTIFICATION COURSES

This two-day course will certify participants as American Red Cross Lifeguards. Please see below for available course dates.

Course Dates (two-day):

Saturday, July 22-Sunday, July 23

Time: 7:30 AM-5:30 PM

Fees:* $450/member, $500/non-member

*Lifeguard Certification Reimbursement:

Course participants who obtain their lifeguard certification and successfully become a lifeguard at the New Canaan YMCA are eligible for course fee reimbursement.

RECERTIFICATION COURSES

This one-day course will recertify any current American Red Cross lifeguard with a two-year certification. Participants will demonstrate their skills and brush up on saves, first aid, and CPR/AED. Please see below for available course dates.

Saturday, August 19

Time: 7:30 AM-5:30 PM

Fees: $250/member, $300/non-member

Calling All LemonAiders!

Neighborhood LemondAid Stands for FAFU

Host a LemonAid Stand now-Labor Day

Put your budding philanthropist's compassion into action by hosting a LemonAid stand this summer to benefit the needy children at Facing the Future Education Center (FAFU) in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya!

It's Easy!

- Pick up your LemonAid stand kit (while supplies last)

- Grab your family or some friends and host your LemonAid stand any time before Labor Day

- Return any LemonAid funds raised for FAFU to the New Canaan YMCA

Kids Club On-Site Babysitting

Available for Ages 6 Months or Older

Kids Club drop-in babysitting is available for Y members while they use our facility. Children must be 6 months or older and able to sit independently.

Summer Location:

Kids Club will be located on the Y's lower level in our on-site babysitting space for the summer.

Days & Hours:

Monday-Friday; 8:15 AM-12:15 PM

Fees:

Kids Club is free for those with a current Family Membership and $15.00/90 minutes for all other members.
