Beat the heat at North End Gallery in August. Step inside and enjoy this big, beautiful new show, "Swimming in Color" where there will be cool colors to chill by, and hot colors to warm you up and in between, a virtual pool of splashes and dashes and glows. This is an all-member show, however North End wants to draw your attention to three artists this month who are well known for their use of color in their work: Jeweler Mickey Kunkle uses bold color and form in her necklaces and earrings and accessories. Painter Marisa Mansueti paints gorgeous still lifes of floral imagery and other subjects that glow with color. Painter Toni Wolf infuses all her imagery with strong and colorful brushwork. Jeweler Mickey Kunkle
Mickey uses bright colors and geometric shapes in her fun and funky creations. Her pieces are bold, but always wearable and not heavy. She incorporates polymer clay and beads in her process to make wearable art that is completely unique. Wear your little black dress on Friday, and come and try on one of her wafer necklaces or petal earrings, and you will see how well they complement simple but clean cut fashion.

Painter Marisa Mansueti
Marisa Mansueti grew up on the water in Solomons, Maryland and comes from a family of artists. She strives for a painterly approach to realism, inspired to paint the Southern Maryland landscape and the flowers from her garden. Standing in front of a blank canvas, whether en plein air or in front of a simple still life, is always exciting to her because it is the beginning of a new adventure. Her hope is that her interpretation of the world in her paintings brings joy to others.

Painter Toni Wolf
Toni is a realistic and representational acrylic and oil painter, choosing bold and vibrant colors to depict creatures in nature and in her en plein air paintings. Orion Dragon Fire, pictured below, is one of her most colorful works, and is part of her series of art based on nebulas.
