Free Power Boat Rides

Space Dock C

Relax and enjoy a free power boat ride on the Long Island Sound*, compliments of Carefree Boat Club of Southern CT.  Register at Try It Cove.

Try It Cove-Paddle Sport Test Rides

Get out on the water and experience the fun of paddle sports. We supply everything you need to take a test ride-no experience needed. Courtesy of the Three Belles Outfitters. Register at Try It Cove. Available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Progressive Boat School's On-Water Boating Classes-By Annapolis School Of Seamanship

Learn by doing. Take the helm under the instruction of USCG Licensed Captains to gain more confidence on the water. Skills covered include boat handling, docking, knots, basic navigation, and weather awareness.

Basic Boat Operator, Women at the Wheel, and Junior Captains (ages 11-15) classes available.*

Hooked-Claw Game

Progressive puts your captain skills to the test, combining the fun of a carnival boardwalk with the timeless charm of an old port town. Take the helm at Hooked, a mega claw machine where you can win seaworthy prizes. If you're lucky, you can also catch sea-legged locals, the Captain and his Mate. They'll tell you a story or two, or three of life on the high seas.

See and touch a variety of tidepool creatures native to Long Island Sound and learn about their roles in the ecosystem. Presented by the Brien McMahon's Marine Science Academy.

Classic & Wooden Boat Collection

Step back in time to admire classic and vintage wooden boats dating back 103 years. There will be more than a half-dozen boats on display including a 1920 Edwin Long Cedarstrip and a 2008 Ken Bassett Rascal Gentleman's Racer.

Enjoy a boat ride out to historic Green's Ledge Lighthouse and learn about the role of the lighthouse in Long Island Sound's maritime heritage. Round trip lasts about one hour. Limited to 49 passengers. Presented by the Norwalk Seaport Association.
