From: Norwalk Health DepartmentThe Norwalk Health Department (NHD) Emergency Response Team (ERT) is essential to our work in public health emergency preparedness and beyond, and now you can be a part of the team! NHD is recruiting adults (18+) who live or work in the Norwalk area for key positions on the ERT. This team of volunteers—which includes people with both medical and non-medical backgrounds—donates their time and expertise to prepare for and respond to emergencies and to promote healthy living year-round.
The goal of the ERT is to extend the resources of the professional NHD staff. ERT volunteers work with public health officials to spread preparedness messages within the community and assist with other public health programs and events. The Health Department provides training and insurance, while volunteers provide their time and skills.
This new cohort of volunteers will join a dedicated and diverse group of almost 150 people who’ve already been trained and serve on the ERT.
Sign up now! Group interviews for the Fall 2023 session will be held during the first two weeks of October.
