Art of Conservation: Hope and Climate Action
Art Exhibit During Open Hours
Climate change and hope can seem hard to connect, especially for the generation growing up with the issue as constant companion and threat. But hope and action are intimately related, and we need both if we are to accomplish meaningful change. At this point we know the climate science. We are told the impacts are here, now, all around us, but we still cannot necessarily see them clearly. VCS is excited by this year’s contest because art – words, sound, visual work – has a special power to make our science, our feelings, our actions, even the complicated issue of climate change, visible. Maybe more powerfully than anything else, art can ignite our action and optimism.
