David Michael Cirkot, 69, of Ansonia, CT, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Dave was a lifelong Connecticut resident and a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Marie Cirkot (Melko), his daughter Lauren Cirkot and his brother Don Cirkot of Seymour.
Dave was an electrical engineer by trade, earning degrees from the University of New Haven and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was the proud patent holder of a Traffic Responsive Control System for automatic swinging doors — a reflection of his ingenuity and technical expertise. At home, Dave was always in motion; he was often found fixing or building something or making his third trip of the day to Lowe’s or Home Depot. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, attending car shows and cruise nights and was a member of the CT Classic Corvette Club.
He especially loved camping at Lake Waramaug and continued waterskiing into his early 60s. Dave was a skilled alpine skier and was a longtime member of the National Ski Patrol at Mount Southington. A lover of good food and good company, Dave enjoyed cooking dishes like paella, harissa chicken with couscous, and tiramisu. He also had a soft spot for his Ragdoll cats, Simba and Matisse.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dave’s life on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Closer to Free Ride, where a dear friend, Darlene Ashford will be riding in his memory: https://www.rideclosertofree.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.participant&participantID=32726
