Richard James Zrallack, age 72 of West Haven, died peacefully on August 15, 2025, at the CT Hospice, Branford with his family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on February 3, 1953, he was the son of the late Robert and Elaine Marcoux Zrallack. Mr. Zrallack was raised in Bridgeport and Stratford and was a 1971 graduate of Stratford High School. He was an outstanding student athlete, excelling in baseball, football, basketball and even held the Stratford High School record for rope climbing. He worked as an Inspector and Lead Man for Sikorsky for over 45 years, until the time of his retirement in 2023. Mr. Zrallack enjoyed fishing and clamming in Long Island Sound and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. His favorite thrill was trying his luck on the craps tables at the Mohegan Sun Casino. He will be long remembered for his special love for his family – especially for his granddaughter, the light of his life. Mr. Zrallack is survived by his devoted children, Kelly M. Addeo and her husband, John of Shelton and Richard N. Zrallack of West Haven; a cherished granddaughter, Nikole Malaney of West Haven; sisters, Elaine Hirsch and her husband David of FL, Arlene DiTroia and her husband, Vincent of FL; brothers, Robert Zrallack and his wife Lillian of FL, Thomas Zrallack and his wife Kelly of FL and Kenneth Zrallack of Stratford; a brother-in-law, Stephen Sopko of Beacon Falls; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joan Sopko. Family and friends may call on Saturday, August 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
