Ronald Joseph Michel, Jr., age 60, beloved husband of Tammy Lapke Michel of Ansonia, died on January 24, 2025 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport, with his family by his side. Born in Derby on July 19, 1964, he was the son of Ronald J. Michel, Sr. of Ansonia and the late Florence Ely Michel. Mr. Michel was raised in Derby and was a lifelong Valley resident. He worked as a machine operator for the former Hershey Metal Co. and the W.E. Bassett Co., until the time of his retirement. Mr. Michel also found employment as a painting contractor and tree worker. He was an avid fisherman, a loyal football fan of the NY Giants and enjoyed trips to the casinos. Together with his wife and family, he sailed on over a dozen Caribbean cruises, enjoying life while making lasting memories. In addition to his father, Ronald J. Michel, Sr. and his wife, Tammy Michel, of 34 years, Mr. Michel is survived by his devoted children, Eric Lapke and his fiancé, Jessica Chaney of Beacon Falls, Justin Lapke and his companion, Alicia Paliotti, of Waterbury and Melissa Michel of Ansonia; Brothers, Thomas Michel, Richard Michel and his wife, Shelly, and David Michel; cherished grandchildren, Tristyn Lapke, Brianna Lapke, Alayna Michel, Benjamin Alvarado and Emylee Lapke; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Michel. Funeral services are private. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.
