Old Car Festival 2023

Arts and Entertainment

August 26, 2023

From: Old Car Festival

Wander through the village to meet the owners who’ve passionately preserved these treasured machines. Watch drivers engage in games of skill, listen to the distinctive sounds of century-old vehicles or sit back and enjoy expert insights while drivers motor through the Pass-in-Review parade. This weekend is your chance to become immersed in the moving stories of the early automotive era, a true automobile lover’s dream, as electric-, steam- and gas-powered engines are constantly in motion around you.
America’s longest-running antique car show brings ragtime America and the Jazz Age to life with two days of historically inspired street food, music, dancing and activities. Stay late Saturday evening for the Gaslight Parade of Cars, dancing with the River Raisin Ragtime Revue and a Dixieland-style parade.

NEW in 2023: Indiana Autos

Indiana was second only to Michigan in the size and strength of its automotive industry. Haynes-Apperson, formed in 1898, was one of the country’s earliest car companies. Makers Duesenberg and Marmon excelled in luxury and engineering. McFarlan produced some of the era’s most expensive autos. Stutz gave us America’s original sports car. Studebaker built cars in Detroit before shifting auto production home to South Bend in the 1920s. And Indiana-born Carl Fisher launched the Indianapolis 500 – still the greatest spectacle in racing. We celebrate the nameplates of the Hoosier State with a focus on Indiana autos
