On Anniversary of Trump’s Executive Order to Dismantle Affordable Care Act, Reminder that Sam Brown Also Wants to Repeal the ACA

Sam Brown has repeatedly supported plans to take away health care for hundreds of thousands of hardworking Nevadans

On Oct 12th, marks seven years since Donald Trump signed an Executive Order attempting to dismantle the Affordable Care Act (ACA). MAGA extremist Sam Brown has also supported repealing and gutting the ACA, and would be a direct threat to hardworking Nevadans’ health care if he were elected to the U.S. Senate.

While Jacky Rosen has consistently stood up against Republican efforts to repeal the landmark health care law and rip away coverage from millions of Americans, Sam Brown has opposed efforts to lower health care costs.

  • During his failed run for office in Texas, Brown said that the Affordable Care Act was not something to “adopt or support in any way, shape, or form” and called to resist the ACA as much as possible.
  • On current and past campaign websites, Brown has made bashing the Affordable Care Act one of the main tenets of his health care policy.
  • Brown also called the new law to lower prescription drug costs, which capped insulin costs at $35 per month for seniors and gives Medicare the power to negotiate for lower prescription drug prices, a “big loss for the American people.”

If Brown had his way and his toxic support for repealing the Affordable Care Act came to fruition, hundreds of thousands of Nevadans would lose their health coverage, once again be discriminated against for pre-existing conditions, be forced to pay higher premiums, pay more for prescription drugs and lose access to preventative care.

Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz:

“MAGA extremist Sam Brown would clearly be another vote in the Senate to dismantle and repeal the Affordable Care Act, ripping away health care access and protections for pre-existing conditions from hundreds of thousands of Nevadans. Voters in the Silver State have repeatedly stood up against Republican efforts to sabotage our health care system and increase costs, and this year they will do it again by rejecting Sam Brown at the ballot box.”
