From: Palm Beach State College - Palm Beach Gardens CampusWhat: Palm Beach State College will hold its inaugural Emerald Torch Awards Gala to recognize its 90th anniversary and celebrate alumni and other leaders who strengthen the community through public service and career achievements.
Who: More than 300 guests will attend the Veterans Day sold-out ticketed event ceremony, including PBSC President Ava L. Parker, J.D.; PBSC District Board of Trustees Chair Carolyn Williams, along with other DBOT members; Mistress of Ceremonies and CBS12 news anchor Luli Ortiz; Lois Pope, one of America’s leading philanthropists; Clarence Anthony, CEO and executive director, National League of Cities; Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw; Fatima Cajas, weather anchor, TelevisaUnivision; and Brad Peacock, professional baseball pitcher, major and minor leagues.
When: Saturday, November 11 - 6 - 10 p.m.

Why: This signature event recognizes alumni and other leaders who strengthen the community. Pope will receive the Emerald Torch Lifetime Achievement Award and Anthony, Bradshaw, Cajas, Peacock will receive an Emerald Torch Award.
It will also tell the story of PBSC’s 90 years of service to the community and showcase why the College is nationally recognized as one of the best colleges nationwide for military and veteran students and how its Veteran Success Centers transform the lives of student veterans.
