From: PITT Community CollegeWinterville, NC - Pitt Community College is offering a course to help prospective health sciences students prepare for the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS), a standardized multiple-choice exam many colleges require for allied health program admission.
The “TEAS Test Boot Camp,” according to PCC Health Sciences Admissions Specialist Kristi Walters, will feature five sessions — each focused on a specific exam topic. She said Pitt instructors would be on hand to help students sharpen their test-taking skills and strategies, reading, math, science (combination of anatomy, physiology and chemistry), and English/language usage.
"PCC health sciences curricula are rigorous, and we expect the best from our students as they prepare to work in health care,” Walters said. “The TEAS helps ensure that we select the most qualified applicants for the seats we have available in our highly-competitive Nursing, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiovascular Sonography, Medical Sonography and Occupational Therapy Assistant programs.”
PCC’s boot camp will take place Wednesdays (Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25 and Nov. 1), from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the college’s Herman Simon Building (Room 201). The cost is $30, which includes the “Official ATI TEAS Study Manual.”
Registration is underway at https://bit.ly/teas-test-prep-23, and the deadline is Oct. 2 at 5 p.m.
