Over seventy-five thousand people will attend the four-day event that has been touted as one of the best festivals in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Delicious food, a variety of live entertainment, a parade, 5K run, games, rides, arts and crafts, bingo and of course home-grown Pittston tomatoes keep bringing an enthusiastic crowd to the festival year after year.
Parade
The Pittston Tomato Festival Committee cordially invite you to participate in the 40th ANNUAL PITTSTON TOMATO FESTIVAL PARADE to be held in downtown Pittston on Saturday, August 19th, at 11:00 a.m. All area civic, social, and school organizations, as well as public officials, are encouraged to participate.
We are asking not only for your participation but participation with a flare. Do something special for us this year. Decorate your vehicle or create a tomato-themed float. Make a Banner to let us know who you are. Tell us about you and or your organization.
There will be a 5K run starting first so the streets will be blocked off at 9:30 a.m. Participants in the parade need to be lined up by 9:30 a.m. The parade route is approximately two miles long and will begin on the Main Street of South Pittston and proceed through the Downtown and around to Kennedy Boulevard ending on East Street, adjacent to Coopers Co-op Building.
It is time to start preparing. Time goes by quickly so make your plans now. Please fill out the enclosed entry form and get it back to us by August 5th, so we can set up the divisions etc.

Due to the 5K Run, the streets will be blocked at 9:30 a.m. All participants in the parade must be lined up by 9:30 a.m. There will be no exceptions.

Race
Every participant that "Early Bird Registers" will receive a Tomato Festival 5k Moisture-Wicking Short Sleeve T-shirt.
This event is the 2nd race in the Pittston 5k Race Trifecta and is held during Tomato Festival weekend.
This event will feature a 5k route, walking loop and youth run loop.

This year's race will start and end at the entrance of the Tomato Festival Lower Lot located on Main Street.
Little Miss and Mister
The Little Miss and Little Mister Tomato contest will be held Sunday, August 20th, at 11a.m. All contestants are asked to be at the festival band shell by 10:30 a.m.
The first category, “Little Miss Pittston Tomato” is open to girls, two to six years old. The second category, “Little Mister Pittston Tomato, is open to boys, two to six years old. The categories will be judged with 50 points for beauty and 50 points for personality. The children are asked to wear something they would wear to a day at the Tomato Festival.
One winner will be chosen in each category with one runner-up. Entry fee is $5 and prizes will be awarded. Checks should be made payable to the Pittston Tomato Festival, Inc.
Tomato Contest
In addition to the food, entertainment, and games, an annual highlight of the Pittston Tomato Festival is the Annual Tomato Contest. Everyone is welcome to enter his or her tomatoes at no charge in this contest.
