From: Guilford County SchoolsGreensboro, NC - “It starts with us.” That’s how Allen Jay Elementary pre-kindergarten teacher Kimberly Evans reacted to learning that she is the November GCS Employee of the Month. Evans knows the importance of early childhood education to a student’s overall success in the classroom.
Allen Jay Elementary parent Angelica Rivera knows it too, and seeing the growth in her child this year led her to nominate Evans as Employee of the Month. Evans was surprised with the news on Tuesday.
In her nomination, Rivera wrote: “This employee is exceptional! She goes above and beyond with the children. I can see my child every day on Class Dojo. She quickly responds to parents, lets you know if there is a problem, and offers solutions. She always has a smile on her face and receives many teacher requests every year. My child loves going to school, and she always keeps us updated on what is being learned. She is amazing and never does the bare minimum. I am grateful that this Pre-K teacher is my child’s first school experience. Thank you so much Ms. Evans for all you do, always.”
Evans received a $50 gift card courtesy of the Greensboro Jaycees. During the month of November, her photo will be displayed at the district’s central offices, at Allen Jay Elementary and in the Greensboro Jaycees office.
