From: Virginia Governor Glenn YoungkinTOKYO, JAPAN – Governor Glenn Youngkin today met with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida to discuss opportunities for additional trade and foreign investment between Virginia and Japan.
“As Japan maintains its economic stature and strength, Virginia looks forward to continuing a reciprocal trade relationship that benefits both players,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin. “Together we can advance our shared goals and vision for a more productive and prosperous future.”
The Governor expressed his appreciation for Japan’s partnership and support as one of the most important trade and investment partners for the United States and Virginia.
Since 2012, Japanese companies have announced more than $1.7 billion in Virginia capital investments, and Japanese companies employ more than 14,500 people in Virginia.
Governor Youngkin expressed his interest in continued coordination in bilateral trade investments between Virginia and Japan.
