Charleston, WV - West Virginia Republican Party (WVGOP) Chairman Matt Herridge released the following statement on Friday:
“As we close out the week and finish processing the data and results from Tuesday’s election, the good news keeps coming. President-Elect Trump won the night with his historic, resounding victory and ascent back to the White House. Republicans also regained control of the U.S. Senate and maintained control of the U.S House, delivering President-Elect Trump and Vice President-Elect Vance unified government in Washington.”
“At home in the Mountain State, West Virginia experienced another red wave cycle. Governor-Elect Patrick Morrisey won a decisive victory, along with our Governor and Senator-Elect Jim Justice, Congresswoman Carol Miller, and Congressman-to-be Riley Moore. Republicans also swept the state Board of Public Works and expanded supermajorities in the State House (91-9) and Senate (32-2).”
Herridge concluded, “Republicans have continued their dominance in the Mountain State, and we must now continue to earn the trust and support of the people by governing responsibly and effectively to continue making West Virginia a better place to live, work, and raise a family.”
