From: Regina A. Quick Center for the ArtsSPRING SOIRÉE
Join us for a fabulous evening in support of the Quick.
On Sunday, April 6, the Quick Center for the Arts is pleased to present the ambassador of the Great American Songbook, Michael Feinstein with his concert, Because of You: A Tribute to Tony Bennett featuring the Carnegie Hall Ensemble.
To make the evening even more special, the Quick is hosting our 2nd Annual Spring Soirée. Starting at Bellarmine Hall, guests will enjoy dinner with a view of Long Island Sound while listening to the music of the Regional Center for the Arts jazz ensemble. Following the concert (VIP seats included), our Soirée attendees will enjoy a backstage meet & greet with Michael Feinstein while sipping cocktails and grooving to vinyls spun by the Peacock Alley Cocktail Club.
We are ecstatic to celebrate the end of our 2024-25 season with such a special evening of music, food, cocktails, and great company. We hope you will join us in this celebration as we share what’s to come for the Quick. Proceeds support the Quick’s Arts for All program.
There is limited seating for this event and tickets are selling fast. We encourage you to buy now by calling our box office at 203-254-4010.
FOR KIDS
The Quick announces new summer camps that ignite creativity!
The Quick Center for the Arts has long been known for our summer camps with the Missoula Children’s Theatre, where generation after generation remember their moment on the stage. Now, the Quick is expanding our offerings with new summer camps that encourage different opportunities to learn, make new friends, and keep cool on hot summer days.
Starting this summer, the Quick is excited to offer a few of our camps at the downtown Fairfield University Store (1499 Post Road). These new camps offer a range of art forms, including Acting, Circus, Singing, and Audition Prep. In addition, some of the camps will be offered as half-day options, running Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Missoula Children’s Theatre might be sold out, but there’s still time to help your child make a summer full of memories with Quick Center Camps. Registration starts Monday, March 17.
FOR ADULTS
Sign up for Pilobolus - Connecting with Balance
The Quick Center for the Arts has long been a partner with acclaimed modern dance company Pilobolus over our 34-year history. In the last decade that partnership has grown as the company expands their offerings and our organizations aspire to find new ways to serve our Connecticut community.
We are excited to announce that Connecting with Balance is coming to the Quick! Led by Pilobolus dancers, Connecting with Balance is based on a half century of techniques that playfully increase your body’s capacity for mobility, stability, and expression while improving your wellbeing.
This six-week session will run from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, April 22 – May 27, in the Fairfield University Art Museum: Walsh Gallery, located in the lobby of the Quick. No previous dance experience is required and movement can be done standing or seated. Registration for the six-week session is $50. Registration is first-come, first-serve and will open at 10 a.m. on March 20.
ARTS FOR ALL
Making a difference for youth in our backyard
Many of our patrons are most excited about what is taking place on the Quick Center stages, however, the Quick’s reach goes far beyond world-class lectures and performances. Each season, the Quick serves 3,000 K-12th grade students in under-resourced schools and community organizations. Opportunities for access include workshops with artists, free tickets to attend events with family members, internships, and school matinee performances. Over the last two months, the Quick was able to offer the following programs, thanks to generous supporters:
The Quick partnered with Pilobolus in a two-day technical residency, offering the company an opportunity to try out their new school matinee series production, Pilobolus is a Fungus. More than 250 students in grades 3 through 10 enjoyed the show, which included being welcomed on stage to try some of the movement. In addition, Pilobolus led a workshop with 4th graders from the Curiale School in Bridgeport.
We continued our work with the Regional Center for the Arts, an interdistrict arts magnet school in Trumbull, with workshops in the dance program with elephant JANE dance, and music workshops with David Krakauer & Kathleen Tagg, as well as chamber ensemble Castle of our Skins.
Want to support Arts for All? Mark your calendar for March 19, as Fairfield University celebrates STAGiving Day. In close partnership with our school collaborators, we recognize that the cost of buses can make it difficult for some schools to get students to our events. Make a gift of any size to help us make the wheels on the bus go round and round, all the way to the Quick to see amazing shows!
