From: Santa Rosa CountySanta Rosa County Animal Services (SRCAS) invites the community to attend a Christmas adoption, "All I want for Christmas", event at the Santa Rosa County Animal Shelter, 4451 Pine Forest Rd. in Milton. The event will be held 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 10, and will wrap up the week-long, BISSELL Empty the Shelter event. Stop by to meet fun-loving animals, visit food vendors, participate in children's activities and more, not to mention, adoption fees will be just $5.
"We're excited to showcase some of the great animals we have available for adoption," said Randy Lambert, Animal Services Cheif. "This is a great opportunity for our community to learn more about our services, check out some local vendors, and who knows, maybe even take home a new furever friend."
Overcrowded animal shelters are a nationwide problem, in Santa Rosa County Animal Shelter's care alone, there are over 200 animals. The purpose of the event is to encourage families to adopt from the local shelter. Even if now is not the best time for a family to adopt, this event is the perfect opportunity to learn other ways to help the shelter. From donations to volunteering, supporting these vulnerable animals is a community-wide effort.
