Season Twelve celebrates our artists, audiences, and the city of Savannah from opera to art song, master classes to musical theatre, the Savannah VOICE Festival offers something for everyone!

As we walk the paths of our past our hearts know a feeling of belonging, of roots that run deep, and of the ever-present possibility of new beginnings. This season find us making music in beautiful historic venues in Savannah and Pooler.

CONCERT: ARIA
Thursday, August 8 at 6:30pm
Asbury Memorial Church (1008 E Henry St.)

The Savannah VOICE Festival welcomes you to the 12th Season with a parade of operatic arias performed by selected Festival and Studio artists. Hear returning artists from the past season and meet some new talent at the beautiful Asbury Church.

A meet and greet reception will follow the performance.

SALON EVENT: ENCORE

Members can enjoy a wonderful evening in a beautiful home with a true salon feeling. Great food, lovely wines and a wonderful concert -- where you can reunite with some of the past stars of the VOICE Programs as they begin our epic 12th Season!

CONCERT: HOMECOMING

Branching out to the Pooler Community for a second season, take a trip down memory lane with your favorite songs of a bygone era. Justin Havard and Festival Artists are joined by a big band ensemble, as they perform WWII-inspired music under the wings of the B-17 Flying Fortress “City of Savannah” at the historic Mighty Eighth museum.

A meet and greet reception will follow the performance.

SAVANNAH OPERA PRESENTS: SANCTUARY
Sacred Themed Scenes from Opera, Musical Theatre and Song

Hear famous scenes and songs from your favorite theater pieces that have sacred themes and take place in sacred places. A wonderful community collaboration with Festival Artists, Milnes VOICE Studio Artists and the First Baptist Church and Christ Church Episcopal choirs.

Continuing the legacy of his four decades on the stage, legendary baritone Sherrill Milnes shares his wealth of musical and dramatic knowledge with tomorrow’s stars.

A Festival favorite event, Timothy L. Hall and the Festival artists offer an afternoon of musical inspiration and comfort in the beautiful sanctuary of Savannah’s First Baptist Church.

DINNER – “THE ELEANORS”

The Green Meldrim House once again provides the classic backdrop for this private reading of a new opera commission, THE ELEANORS by composer Jodi Goble with libretto by Michael Ching. Set to premier in the 2025 season, MVPs can get a sneak peek of Savannah Opera’s 5th opera commission, hosted by VOICE’s own Sherrill Milnes and Maria Zouves.

About “The Eleanors”
Meet The Eleanors — Maxie, Ramona and Lilian! These three indomitable ladies are holding down the home front during World War II with humor, heart, the support of good friends … and a nightly scoop of ice cream. Foxtrot down memory lane into 1940s Savannah with Jodi Goble’s swing and American Songbook-infused operatic score, set to words by Savannah VOICE Festival’s own composer-in-residence Michael Ching.

The “God on Broadway” church of Asbury Memorial is the perfect backdrop for a wonderful tribute to musical theatre. Show tune standards - old and new – come back to the Festival in a spectacular homage to the “great white way” as only our wonderful singers can deliver!

SAVANNAH OPERA PRESENTS: Gilbert and Sullivan’s THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE
Saturday, August 17 at 6:30pm
Yamacraw Center for the Performing Arts (649 W Jones St.)

The Pirate King, Mabel and swashbuckling Frederic come to life as Savannah OPERA presents this “G & S” comic classic. This production is a wonderful community collaboration with returning Festival Artists, Milnes VOICE Studio singers, Chatham County School students and a Savannah OPERA orchestral ensemble, conducted by Jorge Parodi and directed by Chad Sonka.

FESTIVAL FINALE: REUNION
Sunday, August 18 at 5pm

As the Festival comes to a close, we will leave you wanting to “come back home” as we reunite artists and audiences in a fabulous garden party of food, drink and musical gems from SVF’s classic formula of opera, musical theatre and song
