From: School of Visual ConceptsGuess which way UX design job openings are going?
Right now there are more than 11,000 UX design jobs posted on LinkedIn, and around a third of them, surprisingly, were tagged by the companies that posted them as targeted for entry-level folks. Down the road, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says job growth in the field should be “much higher than average.” So, if you’ve been thinking UX might be a good career path for you, put a toe in the water, learn what the field is all about, and get started on your future.

Instructor: Dave Miller, Principal and Founder, Design Citizen
If you’re one of 900 people responding to a job posting, how in the world do you make yourself stand out? You could start by coming up with a distinct and relevant story about you, and then telling it visually and verbally. Dave Miller has seen thousands of portfolios in his time as a design recruiter, and he’ll show you how to make yours stand out in this free community talk.
Mapping User Experiences
1 Friday, 10/27, 10:00a - 1:00p PT, $225
Instructor: Bobby Hughes, Founder and Principal, Aardvark Design Labs
If you’re not familiar with the concept of a journey map or experience map, these graphical presentations chart a digital user’s or customer’s experience over time. With an experience map in hand, you can more easily spot opportunities as well as stumbling blocks. This workshop is for designers, strategists, and anyone who wants to think more strategically about the creation or marketing of any product, service, or experience.
