The South Carolina Democratic Party has reopened the candidate filing for State House District 6 in accordance with SC State law, following the tragic passing of Democratic candidate Eric Childs. The district is in Anderson County.

The filing period will be open until noon on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

Any eligible Democrat should complete the necessary filing paperwork and $208 filing fee with the SC Election Commission or the Anderson County Board of Voter Registration and Elections by the June 25th deadline. 

The special primary election will be held on Tuesday, July 9.
