From: Brevard CountyBREVARD COUNTY, FL -- As part of the kick-off of the Advance 2035 Transit Development Plan, Space Coast Area Transit is working in partnership with the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization to conduct an online transit survey to guide improvement plans for transit service in the future. Whether you ride transit, drive a vehicle, walk, or ride your bicycle, YOU can help us understand how you currently use and view transit services, why you chose not to use transit, and what it would take to change your mind about using transit. Help us advance transit service, together!
The survey is open until November 17. For questions or concerns on the survey, call 321-690-6890.
A Transit Development Plan (TDP) is a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)-required, 10-year horizon plan intended to support the development of an effective multimodal transportation system within a specific jurisdiction for the ultimate benefit of the State of Florida. The TDP serves as the basis for defining public transit needs, which is a prerequisite to receive State funds. The TDP Rule (Florida Administrative Code 14-73.001), requires that the TDP be a transit provider’s planning, development, and operational guidance document and, therefore, a strategic blueprint for meeting the mobility needs within a service area. Finally, TDPs have increasingly emerged as a powerful marketing tool for transit services within a study area and can function as a catalyst for general education and awareness outreach that often is required to sustain the growth of the multimodal transportation system.
