LANSING — With under 50 days until the election, Michigan Democrats are celebrating National Voter Registration Day by encouraging all eligible Michiganders to check their registration or get registered to vote this November. To mark Sep 17th’s holiday, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement:

“As we get closer to this historic election, it is more important than ever that Michiganders are registered to vote so they can show up on election day and make their voices heard. In the past two years, Michigan Dems have worked hard to secure our elections and expand access to the ballot box — because we know that election security and voting rights aren’t mutually exclusive.

“Democracy is precious here in Michigan, and we know that the right to vote has been hard fought in this country. That’s why we must all do our part to turn out and elect Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz, the only candidates in this race committed to fighting for our families and protecting our rights.”

To check your voter registration or register to vote online, check out the Michigan Voter Information Center or go in person to your local county clerk’s office.
