From: Art Museum Of Southeast Texas

The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) will present its popular Free Family Arts Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit AMSET in downtown Beaumont for a fun-filled day creating wild west inspired art pieces and exploring the museum.

The event’s theme, “Wild, Wild West”, is inspired by the current exhibits on display in the museum’s main gallery, Tom Jean Webb: A True Fairytale and José Villalobos: An In Between | Un Intermedio, whose works are centered around themes of the American Southwest. Children and their families can create artwork that reflects pieces on display in the gallery including: embroidery sculptures, yeehaw seesaw, spring pop art, elemental watercolors, and more. They are also invited to make their mark at the Mosaic Masterpiece Station led by the mosaic artist J. Muzacz.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their best western boots. The Best Boots Contest is split into three categories: kids, teens, and adults. First Place in each category will win a fun prize.

Complimentary punch and cookies will be provided. A concession stand serving ballpark-style food will also be available for purchase. Enjoy live music from The Band J.A.G. from 11am to 2 pm.

Simultaneously, our friends at the Texas Energy Museum will host their Bubble Day event from 10am to 1pm, Saturday May 3, 2025, across the lawn from AMSET.

When: Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 10am to 2pm

Where: Art Museum Of Southeast Texas, 500 Main Street, Beaumont, TX 77701
