Screenings - Cinematography Activation - Opening Night Party

We’re opening the festival with short films playing in Stiller Auditorium, with a Vinyl DJ party in the museum’s historical entrance, where filmmakers, artists, and film enthusiasts can come together to celebrate our cinematic takeover of the Norton. In partnership with Kodak film, Throwback WPB, and Afflux Studios, the Korman Room will showcase a mix of vintage and modern cameras and the cinematographers who operate them.

AFTER PARTY: Our after party will follow at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, 2414 Florida Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33401, where we’ll have a bar and an all-female DJ set playing til midnight.

Join us at Afflux Studios, located within Gstar Studios in Palm Springs, for a day of films, engaging panels, hands-on workshops, vinyl DJ sessions, live music, and more.

Film Screenings: Running throughout the day.

Workshops:
Working with Celluloid: Get hands-on with celluloid at our film workshop. We'll dive into the history of analog formats, then let you loose to shoot your own scene. Presented by Kodak Film Lab ATL and Throwback WPB. (Max 50 participants)
Grant Writing: Learn the essentials of finding, writing, and securing grant funding for your film.

Panel Discussions:
AI in Filmmaking: This panel will explore AI's impact on the industry, featuring a technologist, a filmmaker using AI, and a filmmaker who opposes it.
Filmmakers Connect: Experience the unique Karaoke Pitch session, where ideas take center stage.
Studio B Party: Close out the day with live music and a vinyl DJ set at our Studio B Party.

We'll wrap up our festival on Sunday at Afflux Studios at Gstar Studios.

Workshops:
Sound Design Workshop: Join the audio experts from Loyal Sound as they unveil the secrets behind crafting immersive soundscapes in film. From on-set recording to post-production, you'll get an insider's look at solving sound challenges that can make or break a film. Leading the session is Dan Abrusci, Loyal Sound's Emmy-winning sound mixer. Presented by Video Consortium.

From Script to Screener Workshop: After screening films for festivals for the past 4 years and writing screenplays for over a decade Noah Salzman will provide short-film writers with a set of tips and exercises that they can utilize to avoid the most frequent story-based mistakes that lead to jurors making the tough decisions on which film to accept versus reject.

Panel From Local Shorts to Indie Features: How to Crush It at Top Festivals and Kickstart Your Filmmaking Career, presented by FilmGate Miami.
Award Ceremony: Announcement and celebration of category winners.
