FRIDAY JULY 7TH
Dorothy Martin
Dorothy Martin’s life changed forever when she was forced to face death on her tour bus some three years ago. After her guitar technician had taken an overdose, Dorothy instinctively began praying for his survival. While he may have temporarily died, the technician was astonishingly, miraculously restored back to life. It was this moment that seemed to bring Dorothy to life too. It was this divine intervention that caused a radical and spiritual awakening in the singer, the result of which can be heard on Gifts From The Holy Ghost, Dorothy’s third studio album as front person for the pseudonymous, rock band Dorothy.
New Medicine
Formed in 2009, New Medicine delivers modern hard rock that blends the drive of hard rock with the emotion of post-grunge with a hip hop flair, giving them a rowdy, slick sound that mixes equal parts swagger and sulkiness. New Medicine made their debut in 2011 with Race You to the Bottom (Photo Finish/Atlantic Records) which earned them a top spot on the Billboard 200. Their sophomore album Breaking The Model (Imagen Records) released in 2014 found a massive organic audience since its release on Spotify garnering more than 75 million streams on Spotify alone. New Medicine has extensively toured the U.S. with bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Halestorm, Disturbed, Hollywood Undead, Papa Roach and many more. The band took a hiatus in 2015 but returned a few years ago releasing a new single “Die Trying” in 2020 and since have release 4 more singles “**** It” “Life Like This” “Own It” and their latest “UP” a collaboration with former tour mates Adelitas Way. The band is back making music in the studio and plans on a new EP to be released in fall 2022. New Meds will be back on the road this year playing tour dates in select cities for the first time in over 5 years. Lead singer Jake Scherer says “We had felt defeated by the music business in the past when we decided to take a hiatus but in the last 5 years, our old and new fans have found us in a big way and demanded we come back for another shot at this. 130 Million streams later and here we are. We feel like it’s a new beginning and new chapter for the band.” Don’t miss them if you get a chance to catch them on the road this summer and look out for more releases in 2022.
SATURDAY JULY 8TH
Theory Of A Deadman
With sky-high hooks, riffs as thick as a 2x4, rumbling grooves, and a razor-sharp sense of humor, Theory Of A Deadman) have quietly persisted as an unapologetic, unbreakable, and undeniable hard rock force with major multiplatinum hits and countless sold out shows in each of the past two decades. Jamming together in basements throughout high school, the band burst out of their small hometown of North Delta, British Columbia with the self-titled, Theory of a Deadman, during 2002. In addition to the double-platinum breakthrough album Scars & Souvenirs [2008] and gold-certified The Truth Is… [2011], they have notched a procession of hits, including the gold-certified “All Or Nothing,” “***** Came Back,” and “Lowlife,” platinum-certified “Angel,” “Hate My Life,” and “Not Meant To Be,” double-platinum “Bad Girlfriend,” and triple-platinum “RX (Medicate).” As the biggest smash of their career this far, the latter marked their third #1 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart and garnered a nomination for “Rock Song of the Year” at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. They have logged two Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200. In 2020, Say Nothing landed at #2 on the Billboard Alternative Albums Chart and #3 on the Rock Albums Chart. Plus, it earned praise from American Songwriter, Billboard, and Classic Rock Magazine who awarded it “4-out-of-5 stars.” Now, the award-winning quartet—Tyler Connolly [lead vocals, guitar], Dave Brenner [guitar, backing vocals], Dean Back [bass], and Joey Dandeneau [drums, backing vocals]—once again deliver a barrage of anthems, beginning with the single “Dinosaur” and more to come.
Saving Abel
Saving Abel are an RIAA certified multi-platinum band and have received multiple awards from MTV, VH1, Fuse, BMG and Music Choice. “Addicted” won most played song of the year and has hit over 130 million streams on Spotify and over 200 million as a band.
Saving Abel is currently in the studio recording their forthcoming album with a release of an Essentials early 2022.
In late 2004 vocalist Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null met at a concert in Corinth, MS; the two began writing songs by early 2005 under the name Shade of Grace. The duo attracted attention from well known grammy award winning producer Skidd Mills (12 Stones, 3rd Day and Skillet). Writing and recording the demos for their untitled project lead them down an unexpected path. Weeks tells the story of transitioning to what we came to learn as Saving Abel. “We had written and recorded 18 days, Beautiful Day and Drowning Face Down as Shade of Grace. With Skidd we had this new direction and formula. He was pushing us creatively in ways Jason and I weren’t doing alone. So, one day after a long day of trying to write, nothing really stuck and we were feeling deflated about the wasted day. Jason said “Sing to him (Skidd) that song you’ve been humming for the past couple weeks.” I sang him the chorus of this little melody that had I written and had been stuck in my head. I sang to him what would later become Addicted and Skidd said “Well, why didn’t you lead with that?” This pivotal moment is when Saving Abel began.
