Texas Sam Brown Campaigns With His Extreme Home State Senator

Government and Politics

October 11, 2024

Brown said it would “literally take an act of God” to get him out of Texas before moving to Nevada to run for office – again

On Oct 11th, MAGA extremist Sam Brown brought his home state Senator John Cornyn of Texas to campaign with him in Reno. Cornyn is the latest in a long line of MAGA extremist surrogates who share Brown’s hardline views on banning abortion and gutting Social Security and Medicare.

Before moving to Nevada to run for office again, Brown was a longtime Texas resident, where he ran for office on a platform of banning abortion even in cases of rape or incest. He even said, “It will literally take an act of God to get me out of Texas.”

Now, Brown is bringing his home state senator to Nevada to push their extreme agenda:

- Both Brown and Cornyn endorsed an extreme abortion ban in Texas that had no exceptions for rape or incest and was considered one of the “toughest restrictions in the country” at the time.

- Cornyn has also cosponsored a national abortion ban and supported a ruling from the Texas Supreme Court that denied a lifesaving emergency abortion to a Texas woman.

- Like Brown, Cornyn has threatened Medicare by repeatedly supporting extreme budget plans, including one that “would essentially end Medicare.

Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz

“On Oct 11th, failed Texas state house candidate Sam Brown reminded Nevadans how out of step he is with them by bringing yet another extreme MAGA politician to join him on the campaign trail – this time from his home state of Texas. Brown and Cornyn’s extreme record of pushing to ban abortion even in cases of rape or incest and gut Social Security and Medicare may fly in Texas, but they have no place in Nevada.”
