From: Mountain State Apple Harvest FestivalThe Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival celebrates the apple industry- a valued part of the heritage of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Held every third weekend in October, it has become a treasured homecoming with festivities spanning over multiple days.

The Royal Gala
The Royal Gala has been the unofficial opening of the festival week, remembering the roots of our apple industry and its economic importance and social impact on our area. The Royal Gala promises to be an evening filled with nostalgia. MSAHF President, Susan Snowden, will reflect upon the festival's rich history and share appreciation for all the people who have helped make this event a success over the decades.
The evening will include recognition of our sponsors, a formal presentation of the 2025 Honored West Virginian, the farewell address of 2024 Queen Pomona and a special $500 scholarship presentation to our outgoing queen made possible by the Snowden family. We will also introduce the 2025 Court and Maid Elect. Please join us for this celebratory event in the Hollywood Ballroom at Charles Town Races.

5th Annual Apple Harvest Fall Classic at Musselman High School Baseball Complex
The Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival is happy to announce the Annual Fall Classic to recognize local baseball and softball student athletes for their success on the field and in the classroom. This year we will be hosting both Baseball and Softball.
10AM: Pomona Ladies Brunch at Holiday Inn
The annual Pomona Ladies Brunch is a lovely gathering celebrating generations of successful women in our community, featuring a delicious apple-themed meal, the signature Apple pin gift, several giveaways from local businesses, and an inspiring word from a female leader in our region. Our 2025 featured speaker will be our reigning Queen Pomona XLV Abigail McBee.
6PM: Coronation of Queen Pomona at Airborne Church (FREE PUBLIC EVENT)
The Airborne Event Center stage will sparkle with glamour as guests await the crowning of Queen Pomona XLVI. The coronation marks the official crowning of Queen Pomona and opening of the festival. The Berkeley County High School Senior ROTC Cadets will lead the dramatic processional, making a grand entrance paving the way for the introduction of the Maid Elect, and the Court.West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture will preside over the coronation of Queen Pomona XLVI.
7pm to 10pm: Queen's Reception & Grand Ball at Holiday Inn
Come and greet the newly crowned Queen Pomona and her Court and their escorts.
Dance the night away and celebrate the festival with us!
Apple Pie Baking Contest at BCYF
-Sprouts: Ages 5-13
-Buds: Ages 14-18 years (19 years if still in high school)
-Blossoms: Ages 19 years and older
-Commercial Division: A business or organization that sells fresh apple pies to the public.
Pie Criteria (ALL divisions): Pies must be a two crust pie made from scratch. Pies need to be made in a 9 inch aluminum pie pan. Pies baked in any other container or other size will be disqualified.
Judging will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday with an informal announcement of winners around 5 p.m. A grand prize winner will be chosen from all non-commercial divisions. First, second and third placewinners will also be selected for each non-commercial division. Commercial pie entries will be judged separately and the business or organization with the best pie will be awarded a banner to display at their establishment.

The Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival is excited to offer our traditional "Bob Elmer" Pancake Breakfast at the Berkeley County Youth Fairgrounds.
Tickets are $10.00 at the door.
Children under the age of 6 are free.
9AM-6PM: Pop Up Shops & Arts Fair and Food Vendors at BCYF
For over four decades, shoppers have flocked to this annual event during Apple Harvest weekend featuring handmade goods and art! In 2018, organizers expanded this event to include
“Pop Up Shops”, as well and the response has been overwhelmingly positive!
Now the event is known as the “Pop Up Shops & Art Fair” and is open to vendors of all kinds from juried quality artisans and handmade arts & crafts to food, farm markets, fresh fruit and flowers and Independent consultants selling all kinds of unique products!
Come and browse the variety of boutique shops combined with top-quality works from potters, painters, jewelers, sculptors, glass artists, wood carvers, and so much more!
Plus, there is so much more happening at this two-day event held at the Berkeley County Youth Fairgrounds, you will want to take in and put on your “festival-to-do” list!

Join us for the annual Bob Baronner Apple Trample 5K as part of the Apple Harvest Festival activities! It's a fun morning of running and walking with family, friends and even your beloved four-legged friends can join in the fun.

1pm: Grand Feature Parade at Downtown Martinsburg
One of the most popular traditions of the festival weekend is gathering with family and friends for the Grand Feature Parade! Make plans to join us for a spectacular afternoon event! Bring your comfy seat and blankets and find a great spot to sit along the parade route in downtown Martinsburg to enjoy the 46th Annual Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival Grand Feature Parade. Five large divisions lead by high school bands from around the four-state region provide the excitement necessary to keep your feet tapping and hands clapping. One of the highlight’s is seeing Queen Pomona and her Court’s Float.
