The Box Office/Concessions Manager role is a full-time, year-round senior staff position responsible for all aspects of Box Office and Concessions operations oversight at the Carolina Theatre and The Crown at the Carolina. This person will work closely with all departments to ensure smooth, safe, and fulfilling experiences for patrons, guests, and renters visiting the Theatre, and will report directly to the Executive Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Front of House Management
- Oversee Box Office and Concessions personnel, which includes scheduling, training, and problem resolution
- Develop/update manuals and training materials

- Provide a high degree of customer service to maintain excellent public relations with our patrons and clients

- Work closely with Events Manager to coordinate staffing and other needs

Box Office Management

- Oversee and execute all box office operations including contracts, event builds, reporting, database maintenance, and show settlements

- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of ticketing software

- Ensure box office policies are compliant with ADA regulations

- Work closely with the Development department to help manage information

- Establish and maintain working relationships with key strategic partners, such as local groups, promoters, and community leaders

Concessions Management

- Oversee and execute all Concessions operations including inventory, ordering, and POS maintenance
- Maintain relationships and consistent communications with vendors and distributors

- Ensure that alcohol sales and services are compliant with NC ABC laws and regulations

- Maintain the concessions boards and menus for the bar

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field

- Minimum of 3 years of professional ticketing experience

- Skilled in personal computers and related software applications

- Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills, polished public manner, and ability to work well with board members, donors, volunteers, and a diverse group of staff with attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment

- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge in basic graphic design

- Prior customer service, hospitality, or House Management experience

- Previous experience with cash handling

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills

- Ability to prioritize, be flexible, and adaptable

- Consistent and dependable work ethic

- Should possess high energy, a sense of humor, and grace under pressure

The Carolina Theatre of Greensboro operates with a small staff structure, and all staff are required to wear multiple hats. Successful candidates must be willing to complete duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Board. Salary is commensurate with experience and in keeping with a not-for-profit pay scale. Benefits include Medical Insurance, Paid Holidays, Sick Leave and a 403(b) Retirement Plan.

BOX OFFICE MANAGER - APPLY VIA EMAIL

House Manager schedules are event-driven with hours ranging from 4-30 per week, depending on theatre schedule. Our House Managers supervise and coordinate all aspects of front-of-house activities, including client liaison, supervising client and Carolina Theatre volunteers, merchandising and concessions.

We’re looking for people that enjoy working with the public and appreciate challenges and variety since no two shows are ever the same! House Managers are “the face of the theatre” for most events. Applicants should be comfortable supervising both paid and unpaid staff and volunteers and dealing with minor accounting for deposits.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Supervising all front-of-house aspects of events including coordination with renters, audience members, stage crew, box office and concessions staff, security and volunteers
- Assisting in event set-up, as needed
- Completing accurate reports on attendance, show length and types of events, concessions and merchandise sales, and event issues, if any
- Supervising COVID and health and safety protocols
- Other duties as assigned

EVENT HOUSE MANAGER - APPLY VIA EMAIL

The Carolina Theatre of Greensboro is looking for supporting roles in concessions. Duties include, but are not limited to, popping corn, pouring drinks, serving our patrons quickly and efficiently, and maintaining a clean concession stand. Previous money-handling experience and the ability to be a team player are required.

Our guests are our number one priority. Very limited part-time as hours are based on event schedule. Applicants must have night and weekend availability, reliable transportation, and a positive attitude.
