From: The Gloucester AdventureCalling All Hands on Deck! Seeking Captain and Crew for the 2023 Season
Captain: We are looking for a full-time captain beginning with the lead-up to the 2023 season. Besides operating the vessel and managing the crew, the Captain will work closely with the Executive Director and other staff to design and promote sailing and educational programming that furthers the mission of Adventure, shares the pride in her schooner fishing heritage, and excites a new generation to turn to the sea for inspiration, recreation, and meaningful employment. The Captain will also collaborate with our vessel team to set preservation and maintenance priorities for the vessel.

Deckhands: Seeking energetic and enthusiastic paid crew for the upcoming 2023 season. Reporting to the Captain and Mate you work alongside our volunteer and paid crew to create the overall Adventure experience and positively represent the organization to the public. Sail training and seamanship skill-building are a focus. Positions available for June - September. Excellent compensation offered.

Volunteers: Adventure needs volunteers for the 2023 season. Learn the history of Gloucester fishing and dory fishing schooners. Help maintain and care for a National HistoricLandmark - The Flagship of Gloucester. Train, work and sail with the crew, serving as a docent, or as an educator during educational day sails. Assist with events, and help staff in the office or in the community to further the goals and mission of the Schooner Adventure.
