The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill Brings Authentic Cuisine to Carmel

Uniquely fresh, delicious menu attracts husband-and-wife team to open a new location of the award-winning restaurant brand

CARMEL, Ind. (August 30, 2024) – The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill® invites guests to discover modern interpretations of classic Mediterranean cuisine at its new Carmel restaurant. Now open at 1352 S. Rangeline Road in the Rangeline Crossing shopping center, the 2,547-square-foot location of the award-winning brand is operated by husband-and-wife franchise owners Omar and Sobia Usmani. 

The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill offers a menu featuring Mediterranean favorites served in an elevated fast-casual atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a variety of classic dishes, like the Great Greek Gyro as well as lamb, steak and chicken Souvlaki Plates. Each entrée is perfectly complemented by the restaurant’s fresh Greek salads and four signature house-made dips, including Hummus, Tzatziki, Melitzanosalata (eggplant dip) and Tirokafteri (spicy roasted red pepper).  

“We are excited to have the opportunity to serve this delicious food to our community, and we are confident that once they try it, our restaurant will become a local favorite,” said Omar Usmani, who acquired the franchise with his wife after a career in service operations. “There’s something on the menu for everyone, from kids to adults, including vegetarians, and we offer many healthy options packed with satisfying flavors.” 

Fulfilling the brand’s mission to Live Deliciously, everything is prepared in-house with high-quality ingredients that bring traditional flavors from recipes used for generations. The concept offers a wide variety of customizable options, including the Classic Greek Salad or Rice Bowl with a choice of gyro meat, salmon and more. Guests can indulge in unique offerings like made-to-order, fresh Feta Fries and must-have desserts like Baklava Ice Cream and Rice Pudding.  

Before their new venture, the Usmanis ran a local Montessori school for 10 years. “When we started looking for other business opportunities, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill caught our eye,” said Omar Usmani. “We were sold as soon as we tried the food. One of my favorites is the Athenian Burger, a high-quality, juicy burger with amazing Greek flavors.” 

The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill specializes in catering large parties, events and meetings and is perfect for family gatherings. It offers memorable, mouthwatering Mediterranean spreads with bold flavors that leave a lasting impression. Choose from build-your-own Gyros and savory Souvlaki Skewers accompanied by buttery Rice Pilaf, crisp Greek Salad, authentic dips and delectable desserts like Baklava to impress guests at any event.  

The Carmel restaurant seats 52 guests in the dining room and is open for dine-in, pick-up, catering and delivery open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Delivery orders can be placed through DoorDash and Uber Eats.
