The season kicks off with DON’T MISS DORIS HINES (September 18 - October 12, 2025) by TyLie Shider, a play celebrating the unsung story of Doris Hines, a determined nightclub singer who moved from Yonkers to Minneapolis after WWII to build her career while raising her six children. The play highlights her talent, even earning praise from Nat King Cole to Ella Fitzgerald. Doris Hines is the mother of Gary Hines, director of the Grammy-winning Sounds of Blackness.
Next, ROLLICKING! A WINTER CARNIVAL MUSICAL (November 20 - December 21, 2025) by Rachel Teagle and Keith Hovis, delves into the magical origins of Saint Paul’s beloved Winter Carnival. The musical follows city architect Clarence “Cap” Wigington and his wife Viola as they are swept into the mythical realm of King Boreas, encountering historical Minnesota figures who shaped the festival's enduring tradition.
Following is WHOOSH! (January 29 - February 22, 2026) by Andrew Erskine Wheeler with music by The Lost Forty. This expanded production of an award-winning ghost story from the 2022 MN Fringe Festival recounts the intersectional history of Wheeler’s Irish ancestor with Minneapolis’ St. Anthony Falls in the aftermath of the Civil War, blending storytelling and folk music.
HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF (March 19- April 12, 2026) by Sandra Struthers is a fast-paced comedy exploring the first American bank strike, women's labor rights, and one woman's obsession with Duran Duran. The play weaves together the story of the Willmar Eight strike, the movie made about them, and the director Lee Grant, using humor and 80s nostalgia to explore themes of fellowship and dreaming of a better future.
The season concludes with COURTING HARRY (May 14- June 7, 2026) by Lee Blessing, a drama examining the complex friendship between Minnesota natives and Supreme Court Justices Warren Burger and Harry Blackmun. The play explores how their lifelong bond is tested by the momentous and often controversial decisions they faced on the nation's highest court.
