MADISON, Wis. — In the final weeks of the election, WisDems will be highlighting Eric Hovde’s extreme agenda for Wisconsin, and how his policies would be disastrous for Wisconsinites if he wins. The fourth edition will look at Hovde’s plan to cut taxes for the ultra-wealthy, while raising taxes on everyday Wisconsinites.
Eric Hovde is running to cut taxes for the ultra-wealthy and make himself and other multimillionaires like him even richer at the expense of working Wisconsinites.
Hovde Plan to cut taxes for the ultra-wealthy at the expense of everyday Wisconsinites:
- Hovde supports a $4 trillion tax cut for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations, even if it’s at the expense of everyday Wisconsinites.
- And to fund this tax cut, he would increase the retirement age, slash Medicare, repeal the Affordable Care Act “in its entirety,” and cut veterans’ benefits like the PACT Act, which brought health care and benefits to millions of veterans exposed to toxic burn pits overseas.
- Hovde invested millions of dollars into companies laying off Wisconsin workers and shipping jobs out of state. While local Wisconsin communities were devastated, Hovde jumped at the chance to make himself a quick buck.
- Hovde bragged about getting rich off inflation and exploiting rising prices to raise rents on tenants.
