MADISON, Wis. — In the final weeks of the election, WisDems will be highlighting Eric Hovde’s extreme agenda for Wisconsin, and how his policies would be disastrous for Wisconsinites if he wins. The fifth edition will look at Hovde’s plan to cut veterans’ benefits. 

Eric Hovde would make disastrous cuts to veterans’ benefits and roll back crucial programs like the PACT Act. He also “absolutely” wants to make cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and Social Security benefits, devastating the Wisconsin veterans that rely on them.

If Hovde had it his way, millions of veterans would lose the health care and benefits they earned and deserve.  

The Hovde Plan for slashing veterans’ benefits:

• Cutting veterans’ benefits by 40% by making across the board cuts to “all federal programs.”

• Defunding the PACT Act, which brought health care and benefits to millions of veterans exposed to toxic burn pits overseas.

• Slashing Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and Social Security benefits, programs that millions of veterans rely on.
