From: The Mark Twain House and MuseumUPCOMING EVENT!
Step into a night of powerful storytelling on Friday, May 8, at 7:00PM. Best-selling novelist Jennifer Haigh, recipient of the Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award, joins us in person for a conversation with acclaimed critic and author Rand Richards Cooper about her latest novel, Rabbit Moon. Set against the mesmerizing backdrop of Shanghai, Haigh’s tense, propulsive drama follows estranged parents racing to their daughter’s side after a tragic accident, only to unearth the long?buried secrets that once tore their family apart. With Haigh’s trademark psychological insight and Cooper’s keen literary eye, this Voices of Today event promises a deep dive into the unbreakable bonds of family, the mysteries of modern love, and a city where nothing is as it seems—where “the difference between the almost right word and the right word” truly makes all the lightning?bug?to?lightning difference. We Are offering an exclusive ticket and book bundle, plus a post?event signing. Space is limited. Register now and join us for an evening of literary excitement.
Thank you to John Pascal, teacher of 9th and 11th Grade English Honors, and his Seton Hall Preparatory School students for their annual visit. These students are taking John's course The Writings of Mark Twain. We can't help sharing a heart-warming note John sent to us as we, too, appreciate our amazing staff: "Thank you all for your planning and dedicated time to making the youngest group of Mark Twain scholars round out their coursework with a loving and informational experience in his home and legacy in the museum and Curator Department. One of the students said that 'It's one thing to take the course and analyze his work; it is quite another to see where he wrote what we read and the family background while walking through the man's home. We really appreciate getting to know him more personally this way!'"
