The Provincetown Theater - An Update From The Board, Giving Tuesday and Townie Holiday Show

Arts and Entertainment

December 13, 2022

From: The Provincetown Theater

Update from Board Chair, David Wilson

Dear Friends,

It’s been quite a year here at the Provincetown Theater. As we enter this holiday season, a time associated with both positive and complicated feelings for so many of us, I hope we can all take time to slow down and reflect on how fortunate we are to live in this community.

Provincetown is a special place, made more special by the people and organizations providing us with art, world-class entertainment, and opportunities for connection and reflection. I hope you’ll agree that Provincetown Theater is one of those places, especially as you consider making your end-of-year donations.

In the meantime, in this newsletter, you’ll find an update about our VERY successful Giving Tuesday campaign, information on how to vote for us in the Broadway World Regional Awards, and an update on our strategic planning progress.

Happy holidays to you and yours from all of us at the Provincetown Theater.

With Gratitude,

David Wilson, Board Chair

Giving Tuesday Success!

For those following the theater’s Giving Tuesday campaign, we have some exciting news: not only did we meet our $10,000 goal for the day, but we also BROKE the goal by nearly $2000!

Seventy-four total donors and two board matches throughout the day helped us achieve this milestone. We sincerely thank everyone who helped us set a new record for Giving Tuesday, a new goal we will look to beat in 2023.

There is still time to make a gift to the Provincetown Theater to help us beat our larger end-of-year fundraising goal of $80,000. And to help sweeten the deal, we’re offering a pair of season subscriptions for next year’s productions in a drawing for anyone who has donated $100 or more between December 1st and December 31st! The winner of this fantastic package, worth more than $300, will be announced in January.

Strategic Planning Process Update

The Strategic Planning Committee has been working hard since our first-ever Strategic Planning Retreat in October. We have recently completed a revised Mission and Vision Statement and created new Core Operating Values. We will share these with all of you in January.

We’ve also developed five Strategic Imperatives that will focus our goals and objectives for the next few years.

Finally, we are conducting interviews with other non-profits and regional theaters, volunteers, donors at all levels, patrons, and community leaders to ensure we listen to all voices as we work toward a strong future for the Provincetown Theater. To this end, we also want the input of our valuable fans and friends. You’ll see a link in this email to our first-ever community survey. We hope you take the time to complete this survey. Your responses will be anonymous, and you’ll be entered to win a swag bag worth $150!

Take the Provincetown Theater Survey
Help us shape the future of the theater by taking our first-ever Provincetown Theater Survey! Our audience is the reason that we do this, and we’d like to get to know you better, and hear your thoughts and ideas on what we do here at the theater.

Your answers will remain completely anonymous, and completing the 15 minute survey means you’ll be entered to win a swag bag worth $150! Click the link below to make your voice heard!
