Muller and Sicilia explore photopolymer etching to evoke a sense of presence using physical matter. Muller uses eroded material or matter, and Sicilia works with photo images familiar physical objects placed on a scanner. Sicilia speaks of her work as 'evocators, enduring conduits for recall and imagination'. Muller describes coming from a place of 'not-knowing', and following 'matter as it moves into form and atmosphere and then dissolves' thus, reflecting our human and worldly conditions.
