A mixed media installation by Rebecca Muller combines inked prints, hand-poured "paper" of acrylic medium, and 3-dimensional assemblages of eroded organic and inorganic material including grit, rusted metal, plastic, pigment, caulking cord, bits of wood, and wire. Muller also brings words into the mix, hanging written vignettes throughout the installation. Dialogue with the artist: Sept 20, & 27, 4:30-7pm. Online Art Forum with Howard R. HERE & NOW: SPRINGFIELD represents the first exhibition at the Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery which exclusively features artists and photographers living in Springfield. Responding to a call for artwork this past spring, twenty-two Springfield creative residents, ranging in age from their twenties to seventies, utilize a wide variety of media to create tiny acrylic paintings, wall-size video and hip-hop sound, digital photographs, mylar balloon clothing, and printmaking on fabric.
