From: Theatre WeekTheatre Week celebrates the launch of the theatre season in the Washington, DC region with dozens of shows at low prices, a free Kickoff Fest, and other fun events.

7:05pm to 10:05pm:#DCTheatre at the Nats
Join your fellow theatre-makers from the DC-area theatre industry for a night out at the ball game. Come watch the Nats take on the Chicago White Sox and enjoy a rare opportunity to get together as a community. From performers to dramaturgs, designers and directors to administrators, fundraisers, technicians, and stage managers...everyone is invited! Families and friends are more than welcome. (Tickets are limited to four per person.)
Seats will be together in the left outfield (Section 105). Your ticket includes a seat for the game, a $20 voucher for food, drink, or souvenirs, and an exclusive #DCTheatre baseball cap — a $65 value!
Part of the ticket proceeds go to the Taking Care Fund, supporting fellow theatre-makers in need of support. This event is generously underwritten by Christie Johnson, President of the Board of Directors of Prologue Theatre.
After purchasing your tickets through our secure portal, your ticket link and voucher information will be sent to you by Theatre Washington before the game. You will need to download the MLB app to access your ticket(s) and voucher(s).

The history of performing arts and theatre in Washington, DC, is often overshadowed by the history of politics! We'll discover the city's vibrant and internationally renowned theatre community on this tour. This tour takes you to the city's historic theater venues through the streets of DC to reveal decades of women's contributions to the artistic community. It brings women's stories and marginalized history from behind the curtains to front and center on stage! Meet at the National Portrait Gallery in Penn Quarter, close to several downtown theatres, and finish at Freedom Plaza across the street from the National Theatre.

Rolling on the River Concert

Join Potomac River Partners to celebrate World Rivers Day with an outdoor pop concert on the floating stage at the DC Wharf Transit Pier. DC-area theatre artists will perform music by Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Sam Cooke, Joni Mitchell, and more! Hosted by DC's own Aaron Myers, Executive Director of The DC Commission on the Arts, along with an all star cast featuring Felicia Curry, Rayanne Gonzales, Jimmy Mavrikes, De Carlo Raspberry, and Awa Sal Secka and a band led by Marika Countoris. Before the concert, enjoy free activities from partners at DC Water, NASA, and Blue Origin.

Join Lauren Halvorsen (freelance dramaturg and publisher of Nothing for the Group) for a robust conversation about the depth and range of the upcoming 2023-2024 theatre season in the DC-area. Panelists include Nicole Hertvik from DC Theater Arts, Sarah Marloff from Washington City Paper, and André Hereford from Metro Weekly. The conversation will center women in DC-area theatre and focus on new work and underrepresented communities.

A Tribute DC's Early Black Women Performers & Playwrights
This immersive, multimedia exhibit, curated by Emmy-winning producer Shellée Haynesworth of the Black Broadway on U Project, celebrates DC’s early Black women performers and playwrights. “Black Broadway” was the moniker given to the U Street corridor in the early 20th century, where luminaries such as Pearl Bailey and Cab Calloway could be found performing. This entertaining, engaging experience will educate audiences about the city’s rich history with Black theatre and inspire reflection and conversation.
