Ace Hardware
"Observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month is very personal for me, as a BC thriver and survivor. My two breast cancer tumors found in July 2019 were caught early, Stage 1A, and after chemo and radiation, I continue to be cancer-free. I proudly wear my pink Ace shirt in October when I’m on the sales floor, which I’ve written too many names of team members, relatives and friends who have battled this disease. Sadly, a few lost their battle, but encouragingly, most names on my shirt are thrivers like me.
As the mom in our Mom & Pop Ace Hardware stores, it’s heartbreaking to have another team member get a call-back mammogram threatening membership in this club none of us want to join, but I’m so grateful for efforts in October to help others remain aware of this disease that affects 1 in 8 American women. I’m so grateful that our customers at our Bay Area Ace Hardware stores continue to round-up their change with us in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with every penny of the Alameda County and Contra Costa stores’ change going to WCRC. Keeping the money in the community, to help our community members, is also important to me, and we hear our customers’ relief when they hear WCRC is helping our neighbors with the money raised at our registers in October.
In 2022, our four stores raised $5,565.07 for WCRC, and we hope to meet or beat that total again for our fifth year, to continue to help our life-saving community partner. Look for our team members’ pink Ace shirts throughout October at Laurel Ace Oakland, Oakley Ace, Antioch Ace, and Pittsburg Ace!"

Laurel Burch Studios
“In the spirit of my mother Laurel Burch’s abundant generosity, I’m honored to annually donate a percentage of sales to Berkeley’s Women’s Cancer Resource Center. Laurel believed that healing takes place in the heart, one soul at a time. Her own life was challenged from birth by a rare bone disease that caused her to suffer more than 100 broken bones during her lifetime. Many of her paintings and the collections they inspired include words and phrases within the art itself intended to comfort, inspire, encourage, and support.”

IBX Fitness
“At IBX, observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month is deeply important to us as it allows us to honor the strength and resilience of those close to us affected by this disease while fostering a supportive community that empowers everyone to prioritize their health and well-being.”
On Monday, October 16th, the amazing team at IBX Fitness held a special donation-based class STRONGER THAN CANCER in support of our free services. Thank you so much to Coaches Ian, Megan, and Evee and all the IBX members who came out and broke a sweat for our clients!
Berkeley Police Association
“The Berkeley Police Association is excited to again be supporting the Women’s Cancer Resource Center in the important work they do”.
Berkeley Police Department is taking part in The Pink Patch Project, a national campaign that gets first responder agencies involved in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. WCRC is honored to be included in Berkeley Police Department’s annual campaign. They’ll be selling custom, limited-edition patches (and a brand new pin design!) to spread awareness and raise donations for our suite of programs at WCRC!
