Charity Chicken Wing Fest Helps Military, First Responders And Vets
Torrington, CT - Connecticut’s first charity chicken wing fest took flight in August and The Store Bar & Grill in Torrington, CT today announced that it raised $3,004 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Specifically, the family-owned eatery donated $1 for every dozen of wings sold through September 8, 2025 to the national charity which helps military families secure mortgage-free homes. The Charity Wing Fest coincided with The Store Bar & Grill’s two-year business anniversary.
“We could not have had such a successful inaugural fundraiser for this beneficial charity without the help of our regular customers, new patrons and area businesses,” said Dena Franks, co-owner of The Store Bar & Grill. “Some local organizations even donated additional sums of money to the cause, while Beacon of Light Animal Rescue in New Hartford generously matched our total amount raised. We are so grateful!”
Franks created the Charity Wing Fest based on the popularity of chicken wings across the nation and her family’s connection to the military with several members having served. Further, The Store Bar & Grill offers the most eclectic variety of sauce flavors in the state, including Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, Barbecue, Sweet Chili, Torrington Hot, Mango Habanero, Jamaican ****, Spicy Harissa, Lemon Pepper, Marsala, Spicy Mediterranean, Tunisian Buffalo and Garlic Hot.
“I’ve been a huge fan of The Store Bar & Grill’s tasty wings for the past two years,” said “When I learned that they would be coordinating this campaign that directly benefits military families and first responders, it was a no-brainer for us to contribute.”
The Store Bar & Brill is located at 99 Turner Avenue in Torrington and open Tuesdays through Sundays. A dozen wings cost $19. Visit www.thestorebarandgrill.com for more information.
