On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the Baker-Polito Administration announced that the Town of Bedford has been awarded a $3 million grant from the MassWorks Infrastructure Program.

This grant will fund infrastructure improvements in the area of Middlesex Turnpike, including sewer pump stations, generators, new pumps, and A3 Sewer force main upgrades. These improvements will foster and support existing and planned economic development and growth along the Middlesex Turnpike and Crosby Drive. The $3 million grant builds upon Bedford's MassWorks grant award of $500,000 awarded in October of 2021.

Town Manager Sarah Stanton said, “I was so pleased to receive the news of this multi-million dollar infrastructure grant for Bedford. Sustaining and growing the Middlesex Turnpike and Crosby Drive corridors is a top priority of the Town, and getting the water and sewer infrastructure in place is a key part of that. Congratulations to the interdepartmental team of staff who worked so hard to lay the groundwork for these upgrades and prepare a successful grant application.”

MassWorks, one of the state's largest competitive grant programs, offers cities and towns capital funding to support job growth and housing production. The Town of Bedford thanks the Baker-Polito Administration for this award and recognizes Bedford's state legislative delegation for its support of the Massworks program.
