Camp Verde Getting Ready for Halloween Trunk or Treat

Camp Verde Parks & Recreation is nearly ready for our annual Main Street Trunk or Treat Halloween event on Monday, October 31 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Main Street will be closed down from ACE Hardware to the Camp Verde Feed Store to allow for a safe environment for families to enjoy the activities. Each year we see a crowd estimated at well over 4,000 kids and parents! Businesses, organizations and individuals pass out tons of candy to costumed children strolling the street. Parks & Recreation takes the lead in providing candy for this event by accepting donated funds combined with Town funds and then purchasing candy to be parceled out for distribution. Groups with funds to donate are asked to contact Parks & Recreation as soon as possible. Participants claim a spot along Main Street and set up with their decorated cars, trucks, tractors, booths or whatever! People who sign up in advance can stop at the P&R office at 395 S. Main Street to get their box of goodies to pass out along with their own candy. Parks & Rec staff will be patrolling Main Street in a golf cart with a trailer full of candy to make sure everyone has enough.

There will be an on-line virtual pumpkin carving contest this year. Take a picture showing you and your pumpkin and send it to [email protected] along with your age. The P&R staff will also be checking out the decorated cars and booths to pick awards for the best decorations. 

In addition to costumed candy gobbling, businesses and groups are invited to organize other activities. The Camp Verde Online School will have their famous haunted house ready for only $1 donation. Calvary Chapel, Camp Verde Marshal’s Office and the Kiwanis Club of Camp Verde are just some of the groups that we expect will be joining us for this event. This is an opportunity for businesses and organizations to participate in a fun community event. Does your business have a piece of big equipment that would look great decorated up?
