The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) reports there is expected to be higher costs for energy this winter due to higher-than-average commodity prices, consumption, and projected colder temperatures.
Residents are encouraged to reach out to their heating and energy providers with any questions or concerns. Eversource customers can learn more about Eversource’s extended payment plan by calling Eversource at 800-286-2828 (electric) or 800-438-2278 (gas). Residents may be eligible to apply for a wide range of support for families and households including fuel and energy assistance through Self Help Inc. To determine your eligibility, please call 508-588-5440.

Winter Weather Preparation
The Board encourages residents to prepare for winter weather as temperatures drop.
-Make sure fireplaces and wood stoves are vented.
-Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they are working.
-Make an emergency winter kit for your car.
-Dress warmly and limit exposure to the cold to prevent frostbite.
