From: Town Of Queen CreekA new law impacting motorcycle riders is going into effect in Arizona starting Saturday, September 24.
Motorcycle lane-filtering will now be legal in Arizona. This means motorcycles will be able to move alongside and pass a car when the car is stopped in the same lane.
Here are the legal requirements for the law:
-Vehicles have to be stopped for motorcycles to legally go around them.
-This is only allowed on streets where the speed limit is 45 miles per hour or less.
-The motorcycle cannot go faster than 15 miles per hour, as it is passing by stopped vehicles.
-Motorcyclists cannot use the shoulder as a passing lane.
